A cost-efficient approach for raising capital from accredited investors
Regulation D has several exemptions, although the ones leveraged for online capital raises are Rules 506b and 506c, which enable private companies to raise an unlimited amount of capital from accredited investors.
The primary difference from 506b and 506c is that 506c allows companies to advertise and promote their offering with fewer limitations, whereas with 506b, the company is only allowed to promote the offer to accredited investors it has a relationship with.
