Our Story

In 2017, Carlos Domingo and Jamie Finn envisioned using blockchain technology to bring automation and liquidity potential to alternative asset classes. Recognizing the technology didn’t exist, they built Securitize.

The first fully digital securities issuance platform, Securitize enables issuers to raise capital and allows investors to access alternative investment opportunities in a fast and transparent way—bringing the two together like never before.

December 2016: Carlos Domingo and his co-founders at SPiCE VC pioneer digital securities.

November 2017: Carlos and co-founder Jamie Finn create Securitize, Inc., to digitize the world's assets.

August 2019: Securitize, LLC makes headlines as the only SEC Registered Transfer Agent operating on the blockchain.

December 2020: CB Insights recognizes Securitize as a top 50 global innovator leveraging blockchain technology.

March 2021: Launch of the first tokenized public shares (Exodus), marking a milestone in bringing regulated equity onchain.

March 2021: Securitize issues the first credit-rated security token in Japan.

December 2021: The first tokenized S&P Index Funds launch on Securitize Markets.

February 2022: With the acquisition of Pacific Stock Transfer, Securitize is recognized as a top 10 U.S. stock transfer agent.

March 2022: CB Insights recognizes Securitize as a top 50 blockchain company.

September 2022: Securitize launches fund providing tokenized exposure to KKR fund for the first time in the U.S.

July 2023: Securitize begins the issuance of tokenized securities in Europe in advance of the anticipated EU-wide license.

September 2023: Securitize launches tokenized feeder funds for Hamilton Lane's direct equity, evergreen senior credit, and secondary funds.

August 2023: Securitize announces its acquisition of digital asset wealth platform, Onramp Invest.

March 2024: Securitize named to Fast Company's annual list of the World's Most Innovative Companies of 2024.

March 2024: BlackRock launches its first tokenized fund, BUIDL, on the Ethereum network, exclusively available on Securitize. BlackRock makes a strategic investment in Securitize.

October 2024: Securitize launches new fund administration services and surges past $1B in onchain issuances.

December 2024: Securitize obtains approval by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) as an Investment Firm.

January 2025: Apollo and Securitize announce partnership and launch tokenized access to credit fund on Aptos, Avalanche, Ethereum, Ink, Polygon, and Solana Networks.

February 2025: Securitize recognized on the Forbes 2025 Fintech 50 List, featuring the top fintech startups shaping the future of financial technology.

March 2025: BUIDL surpasses $1B in AUM.

Oct 2025: Securitize announces its plans to become a public company at $1.25B valuation.
